Build Your Home Wind Turbine with The Earth4Energy Blueprint?
There has been a lot of buzz about the Earth4Energy DIY Home Wind Turbine Blueprint
Let me ask this question right away:
Is Earth4Energy a scam ?
Is this system as effective as the developer and many supporters say or is this just one more product in the long line of Internet frauds ?
Naturally there are a number of claims which I can easily confirm as anybody else with a normal brain would agree to without further hesitation such as
Environmentally Friendly
Of course speaks for itself. Wind and sun are green renewable energies and they are free and natural.
Detailed, easy to follow diagrams, professional instructions and guide
Ok I won´t go into any details as far as this is concerned except that on 73 pages there is enough space to go into details
Wind turbines or solar panel cost only $100 - $200 to build, compared to $3000 - $5000 for a professional system
OK let me be skeptical. I don´t buy this immediately.
Save 50% - 80% of energy cost
This seems to be quite courageous. Knowing that the typical American household spends about $ 1600 per year on utiliy costs of which about $900 is for heating and cooling. Theoretically you can channel the wind power and solar power to these systems but you can really save 50-80% of that (equals about 450 to 720 bucks per year. Common sense would tell me that –in the case of wind energy- you will need a strong wind to achieve that reduction and not only a summer breeze. Let´s do a little calculation Watts = Cp • (Diameter in Feet)² • mph³ • 0.004. If I use an unrealistically high Cp for a small turbine, 35%, and a realistic average wind speed, 10 mph, a 5 foot diameter turbine can generate 35 w at sea level (less at higher elevations). For me, that means less a very very small cost reduction in a year - no chance to save 80%. This is hardly an 80% reduction in my bill! An 80% reduction in my bill does not come about at an average wind speed of less than 29 mph! For a 50% reduction wind speeds of at least 18 mph would be required. You can check the areas of the United States where this is realistic and where it is unrealistic. So this is obviously dependent on the area where you live and the season of the year you´re in. You would also be well advised to be prepared to construct more than one windmill and/or combine solar energy with wind energy. Another solution is to buy a supportive motor with a very low RPM rating which you may buy cheaply at ebay.
Easy to set up a windmill /small wind turbine or a solar panel ?
The instructions in the manual are quite easy to follow and will not cause any problems to anybody who has ever assemebled an IKEA piece of furniture before.
Is it cheap?
Now the manual itself cost $49.97. Be prepared to invest another $100 to $200 for various parts you need with the windmill requiring a lower investment than the solar panel.
Investment pay–off very quick?
Considering that you do not have to invest $3000/$5000 but only $250 maximum and the fact that the system will do its work for a few years you will break even after a few weeks even if only have a reduction of energy costs of not more than 30%. You can do the math yourself: 30% of $1500 equals $450. So with an investment of let´s say $225 the investment will pay off after 2 months. There is also a chance for you to apply for funds and in case you producess excess engergy you can sell this to the utility company in your area.
Summary
Despite my remarks and calculations above regarding the windmill there is no doubt that the Earth4Energy systems (wind energy, solar energy) will work as described in the manual and they will definitely produce a nice chunk of electricity for your home even if the wind in your area is not strong enough. But –as described- there are ways out. If you live in a sunny area the Earth4Energy manual will teach you how to set up and use solar cells. It will also show you where and how to get cheap solar cells or panels without having to invest $3000 which normally outside the budget of American families.
The Earth4Energy manual comes with a money-back guarantee of 2 months.
So if you are not content with the results you are entitled to a 100% refund within the 60-days money-back period. In any case you will learn a lot and make yourself familiar with renewable energy technologies we can´t live without in the days of outrageous energy prices and dwindling resources.

Hi! A small wind turbine for your house is a great investment and if you do it right you will laugh at your energy bill...
