Where can I get free plans for a Wind Turbine?
I’m looking for a web site where i can download free plans for building a wind turbine, and wiring diagrams of how it connects to the house
Before you start on anything, understand that there’s a LOT more involved than just plugging a wind turbine generator into your house’s electrical system.
The turbine must connect to a charging system (sometimes a "charge controller") with batteries to store the electrical energy, an inverter to convert the DC power to AC, and either a transfer switch (to switch your house’s system between grid power and battery power), or a type of inverter that can synchronize itself with grid power, so the house can run on both sources at the same time.
If you’d like to keep things simpler, you can get a simple DC-only system, where the turbine charges a set of 12V batteries (similar to car batteries) and power 12VDC LED lighting, electronics, such as TV/radio. Larger appliances such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, heaters and larger TVs must run on AC power.
One response so farWhere can I buy a small wind turbine?
I am looking for a wind turbine which is a scaled down version of those big wind turbines. It has to be 18 inches in diameter or a bit bigger, but not bigger than 2 feet. I need it for an experiment that I am designing for my design course.
Anyone know where I can find a wind turbine of that size online.
The only place I have seen a turbine that small is on boats to help charge the battery. Try marine stores like west marine. Most turbines you will find for home use have a larger diameter than 2 feet

Hi! A small wind turbine for your house is a great investment and if you do it right you will laugh at your energy bill...
